Essential Fatty Acids

Essential fatty acids, of EFAs, play an important role in almost every function of our body .  EFAs are involved with producing life energy in our bodies and moving that energy throughout our systems.  Our growth, vitality and mental state are dependent on EFAs.  However, our body does not produce essential fatty acids.

It is therefore vital that we give our bodies the nourishment it needs through our diet, to maintain optimum health – right down to a cellular level.

Our skin benefits enormously from the EFAs.  Even a slight deficiency in EFAs can lead to skin becoming dry and leathery, can bruise easily and can age quickly.  The sebaceous glands can become unbalanced and overactive, causing greasy skin and acne.  Nails can become brittle and hair can become dull and lifeless.

Follow the simple recipe below, incorporate it into your everyday life and your body will thank you…..

Recipe

Use an empty salad dressing bottle.

Fill half the bottle with flaxseed oil.

Fill half the bottle with balsamic vinegar.

Add 1-2 bay leaves.

1 teaspoon of mustard.

A squirt of lemon

Crushed garlic.

Herbs to taste, such as oregano, basil, etc.

Shake well and refrigerate.

Pour a minimum of two tablespoons everyday over your salad of vegetables.
